“When in crisis, hope gets renewed under different names. One of them is art.”

With these words, Mrs. Laura Boustani – Al Bustan International Festival Executive VP – announced the Festival 2020 edition, at a moment where the country is facing one of the most challenging political and economic crisis of its history. BSL BANK, a main sponsor of the Festival since 1996, shares this vision, and was honored to renew its support to this prominent and spirited Lebanese cultural event.

The 2020 edition featured Ludwig van Beethoven’s through 15 performances as a tribute to his 250^th birthday. Beethoven is known to be one of history’s leading figures in the transformation of music. He continued to compose even after having lost his hearing and went on to create some of the world’s most iconic pieces of music.

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world that year, the last 6 performances of the festival were canceled, in order to ensure the safety of the audience and performers.

We are very much looking forward to the 2021 edition of the Al Bustan International Festival. We hope the coming year will promise us new possibilities and celebrations.
